[UPDATED: May 3rd, 2018]

This month Iris was named Startup of the Year after competing as one of 5 finalists in the Startup Showdown at AUVSI’s XPONENTIAL conference in Denver, Colorado. Iris was up against strong competition, pitching our collision avoidance system against Jetoptera, Unifly, Alyson, and Copperstone Tech. After hearing CEO Alex’s pitch, the judges awarded Iris with the $35,000 prize because our innovative system has such huge potential to make a marked difference to the whole drone industry.

The competition:

Asylon: building infrastructure for autonomous drone missions.

Copperstone Tech: creating Autonomous Amphibious Robots

Jetoptera: developing powerful UAVs and realistic flying cars

Unifly: using Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) solutions to connect authorities with pilots

Iris was awarded a $35,000 prize, which includes a booth at XPONENTIAL next year.
