Iris Automation Launches Waiver Resource Center

Jun 15, 2020

The new product helps drone operators navigate multiple aviation authority regulations when applying for Beyond-Visual-Line-of-Sight waivers for commercial operations

San Francisco (June 15, 2020) – Iris Automation today announced its new Waiver Resource Center (WRC), giving drone operators access to expertise and tools for managing the complex waiver submission process for all BVLOS operations.

The new product is a combination of software-as-a-service and expert aviation policy consulting that simplifies and accelerates the BVLOS waiver application process from beginning to end. The user-friendly tool provides critical regulatory expertise, reduces the time to submission and optimizes approval outcomes.

The trusted aviation policy specialists at Iris Automation have thousands of hours assessing operational risk and establishing compliant BVLOS flight operations. The new WRC includes access to Iris Automation’s comprehensive library of waiver templates, and users can purchase WRC accounts at varying levels depending on their unique BVLOS operations and needs.

“The new Waiver Resource Center is both the crystallization of our Policy team’s expertise and our years of interactions with multiple aviation authorities, to simplify what is otherwise a complex and often confusing process,” said Gabrielle Wain, Vice President of Global Policy and Government Affairs at Iris Automation. “As more companies unlock the potential of drones and look to set their commercial operations apart there is a huge need for on-demand policy experts who can write complex waivers applications for safe BVLOS flight operations.”

The WRC is available to all drone operators in the US pursuing FAA BVLOS waivers including part 107.31, part 107.33, section 44807 and COA applications. Waiver Resource Center also supports Transport Canada BVLOS Special Flight Operations Certificate (SFOCs), and International CAA BVLOS waivers. Unlike law firms and consultants, which bill hourly, the WRC is sold as a subscription, and pricing begins at $350 per month.

The company is currently offering free 15-minute consultations with an Iris Automation aviation policy expert to help potential customers assess their BVLOS project, what application requirements they will have to meet, and the project’s potential for achieving a waiver.
